(51) Dead Reckoning
Title: Dead Reckoning: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood) by Charlaine Harris
Publisher: Ace Hardcover
336 pages
Genre: Fantasy
Synopsis: With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. Sookie suspects otherwise, but her attention is divided when she realizes that her lover Eric Northman and his "child" Pam are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, Sookie is drawn into the plot-which is much more complicated than she knows...
Review: Its hard picking these books back up after watching True blood, the story lines are so different but once you immerse yourself back into the written world you find that its just as much fun. Sure some of the characters are missing or completely different but they are still fun. As much as I like the characters I have to say that this book wasn't as riveting or fun as some of the others. It was okay.
There were issues with the time line of the world which make me wonder if even Charlaine Harris is having problems keeping her two worlds straight. There were just many inconsistencies which I really can't get into without major spoiler alerts. Characters were acting out of character, relationships were different and the feel of this book just seemed a bit off. I'm not sure if she was building up to something happening in the next book but it seemed like this book stood out from this series and not in a good way.
