Synopsis:

Turned into a vampire against her will, 28-year-old Merit found her way into the dark circle of Chicago's vampire underground, where she learned there was more to supernaturals than met the eye - and more supernaturals than the public ever imagined. And not all the secrets she learned were for sharing - among humans or inhumans.

Now Merit is on the hunt, charging across the stark American Midwest, tailing a rogue supernatural intent on stealing an ancient artifact that could unleash catastrophic evil on the world. But Merit is also the prey. An enemy of Chicagoland is hunting her, and he'll stop at nothing to get the book for himself. No mercy allowed. No rules apply. No lives spared. The race is on.

Review:

This is not a stand alone nor do I think you can really follow these books out of order. I'm not sure I liked this book as much as the others I found it to be a little slow and just didn't have the power of the other books in this series so far.

It tied up some loose ends from the previous book and brought to light some new supernaturals that we didn't see before which was intriguing. We got to see the inner workings of the Pack den Little Red which plays a role in her newest series Chicagoland heirs.

Overall this was an okay book I didn't love it but I didn't hate it.  As I said before it filled in some plot gaps and I feel like we can now move forward into a less angsty plot without a depressed Merit.
