REVIEW:
Fast paced mystery. This book weaves the present and the past together. Most of the book is told told by Cassie but every few chapters you would be transported to the past about an Italian immigrant who worked as a Nanny for a wealthy family.
The police in the town of Whale Rock are investigating a murder right before a big storm is due to hit the small town. Prior to the storm hitting and well after the town starts reeling from a missing young boy. His family doesn't seem to forthcoming in helping police and there aren't many leads. Things start to turn desperate as days go by and the only thing the police find is one sneaker and traces of blood. The town is filled with suspects and mystery.
As the story unfolds we learn how the woman from the past fits into the current happenings in the town. This is a good story that kept my interest and was entertaining. The town is small and everyone knows everyone else business so trying to keep the wraps on police business isn't always easy. I didn't read House of Ashes but I'm adding it to my TBR pile and I will be looking forward to more Haunted Bluff Mysteries!

About Loretta:
An author of fiction, Loretta’s writing bridges the
genres of women’s fiction, mystery and suspense, always with hints of romance
and humor, sometimes delving into the psychological and paranormal. She creates
strong but flawed and struggling characters as appealing as the rich
atmospheric settings in which the stories take place.
Loretta has loved reading and creating with words since
she was a young girl. And that affection for the written word followed her like
a shadow throughout her life as she put pen to paper crafting marketing and
