REVIEW:
This started out as your typical romance but there was a twist toward the end that I didn't expect.  What a great start to a new romance series! Dallas August is a haunted man, his first fiancĂ© was killed in a car accident, his second left to marry his best friend, at this point he has given up on love, until Gwen.  There is something about Gwen that speaks to him.  They are both guarded and have secrets.  He knows they have no future, after all he is in the secrets business and she runs a rescue farm for racehorses but yet there is something that pulls at him.

I really liked this book and the author really gave the characters depth.  I also appreciated that after a fight they had bruised and were banged up not just fine to move on to the next big battle. I'm actually really excited about this series and can't wait to read more.
