Synopsis:

The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, Amy mines her past for stories about her teenage years, her family, relationships, and sex and shares the experiences that have shaped who she is - a woman with the courage to bare her soul to stand up for what she believes in, all while making us laugh. Down to earth and relatable, frank and unapologetic, Amy Schumer is one of us: She relies on her sister for advice, still hangs out with her high school pals, and continues to navigate the ever-changing boundaries in love, work, and life.

Ranging from the raucous to the romantic, the heartfelt to the harrowing, this highly entertaining and universally appealing collection is the literary equivalent of a night out with your best friend - an unforgettable and fun adventure that you wish could last forever. Whether she's experiencing lust at first sight while in the airport security line, sharing her own views on love and marriage, admitting to being an introvert, or discovering her cross-fit instructor's secret bad habit,

Review:

Amy Schumer is unapologetic about what she wants and what she needs.  Her unabashed love of sex, food and helping others is refreshing.  In a world where everyone is trying to be someone else or doesn't believe they are enough to do this or that or be this or that its beautiful to read about someone who genuinely likes themselves. I wouldn't say this is a great book.  Its essentially a series of essays some of which get a bit repetitive but others that are really heartfelt and interesting.  Overall its an entertaining read and certainly gives me a lot of respect for Ms. Schumer, her talent, and her message to everyone, love yourself.
