Synopsis

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a terrifying creature arrives to demand retribution. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she knows about only from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not truly a beast, but one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled her world.
At least, he's not a beast all the time.

As she adapts to her new home, her feelings for the faerie, Tamlin, transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But something is not right in the faerie lands. An ancient, wicked shadow is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it, or doom Tamlin-and his world-forever.

Review:

I borrowed this book through Hoopla

I keep seeing this book all over the internet so I had to check it out and see what I was missing. This is a great retelling of beauty and the beast.  Feyre, a human, hunting for her family kills a Fae who is roaming the human world as a wolf.  In revenge for the killing of a member of his court, Tamlin brings Feyre back to the faerie lands where she needs to stay in exchange for her life.

However everyone in Tamlin's court is under a spell, trapped behind masks and held hostage by a vicious faerie who has most of the faerie lands enslaved. Of course only the love of a human woman who hates fae can save them.

It isn't until Tamlin frees Feyre that she realizes her feelings for him and puts her life on the line to save the Fae she loves and possibly all of the faerie.

Well crafted with great suspense and a strong female character. Feyre is a protector, first of her family then of her lover but Faerie is a dangerous land where bargains are made and you need to watch what you say and what you agree to because bargains can't be broken and words are very important.

I now see what all the hype is about with this book.  Well written and relatable characters I really enjoyed this and have already downloaded the next book.
