Synopsis
People say I’m ferocious. Wild. Dangerous.
They’re right. That’s why I live on an island alone.
The jungle is my home. My personal prison.
Until she arrived.
The moment her
helicopter crashed on my land, everything changed.
She’s the only survivor … And I’m keeping her locked up in a pit.
It’s been too long since I last touched a woman, especially one so
beautiful.
It makes me hunger for
her.
I want her … So I’ll keep her
…
And I’ll make her mine.
Review:
Jules crash lands on what she though was a deserted island but it turns out
it is inhabited by Lock. Born in captivity he was forced to fight for his
life and always desired to escape and live outside of a cage. When he
finally did escape he struggled to survive in the modern world and found
himself stranded on an island where he has made a life for himself.
Jules just rubbed me the wrong way from the very start. Running away
from the only human she meets on a deserted island time and time again even
though he hasn't harmed her and keeps warning her the island isn't safe.
She believes she knows better than him and is constantly going off
alone.
Lock doesn't want Jules to signal others because he doesn't want people to
know he is there and doesn't want his home invaded by exactly what he was
escaping, people. There is definitely a connection between the two but Jules
keeps pushing Lock away which gets tiresome. Ultimately I just didn't
connect with Jules as much as I did with the characters in the first book,
Caged.
