Synopsis

Ava has to pay a debt… Viktor wants to claim her…

"I have fallen in love with a man who will never be mine despite me being his."
Ava O’Brien is drowning. She hasn’t finished paying off her father’s last gambling debt when he confesses to owing The Manarch Clan a hundred thousand dollars. In one week.

This Scottish Mafia clan is known for being ruthless and unforgiving. And Viktor Manarch has been groomed his entire life to take over. Business is business, and he always gets what he wants.
When Ava walks into the family restaurant Viktor can’t help himself. He proposes an arrangement to pay off her father’s debt. A fake engagement gets him one step closer to becoming head of the clan, his father off his back, and it gets him Ava for a whole year.

Too bad Viktor’s father has plans of his own that don't include Ava.
But when a dominant, possessive mafia boss fully claims a woman, he will set the world on fire before he gives up what’s his.

Review:

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher through booksirens I am leaving this review voluntarily

Fast paced dark mafia romance.  Ava lives in the projects and is constantly bailing her father out of his gambling debts. She is barely surviving.  When she finds out that her father only has 1 week to pay off $100,000 she goes to confront the man who loaned him the money.

One look at the sassy woman who had the guts to walk into a mafia bar and demand to know who loaned her notoriously bad gambling father $100,000, Viktor is hooked.  He doesn't know what it is about this woman but he has to claim her.

Making her a deal that he would forgive her debt if she pretended to be his fiancé for 1 year.  Of course during that year he realizes that he can't let her go, despite his father pressuring him to marry the woman who almost got him killed.

I was hooked from the very beginning of this book and couldn't put it down.  While there are some minor spelling and grammatical errors it didn't take away from the enjoyment of this book.

Viktor and Ava have a connection, she makes him a better person but other than the money I'm not sure what he has not he table for Ava.  He is controlling, he doesn't share and keeps things from her like she is a fragile flower.  The ending is a cliffhanger and I actually appreciated how it ended.  While I'd like to see these two together I want to see her sassy strong will back, not just as a whiney brat.

Definitely looking forward to book 2.
