  Q.   Why did you start a book blog? (submitted by Julie @  JadeSky )   A.   I used to keep a journal filled with my books and reviews, then decided to do a book blog instead so I wouldn't have to keep buying new journals! It also helped when it came to requesting books from publishers and through places through netgalley.

  Q.   What is your favorite memory surrounding books? (submitted by Julie @  JadeSky )   A.   That would have to be my mom and my grandmother reading to me as a child.  Also reading to my kids when they were little.  There is something special about sharing your love of reading with others.

  Q.   Do you use Goodreads as the main website to keep track of what you have read? If not, please share what you use? (submitted by Elizabeth @  Silver's Reviews )    A.   Yep! I love Goodreads to keep track of what I'm reading and to challenge myself to see how many books I read each year.

  Q.   What is your favorite part about the book blogging community? (submitted by Julie @  JadeSky )   A.   I love finding new books that I either may not have picked up on my own for one reason or another.  I also love connecting with other book lovers.  How about you? Leave me a comment

  Q.  What is your least favorite social media app and why? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)   A.   There are so many, uhm I guess I have a love hate relationship with Facebook. It makes things so easy to connect to people and family far away but all the drama that ensues on there is sometimes more than I really care about.

  Q.  Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein vs. Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Which classic horror tale is scarier? (submitted by Billy @  Coffee Addicted Writer )    A.   They are both great stories, but I think I will go with Dracula.  In many ways I find Frankenstein a sympathetic character...didn't ask to be created doesn't really understand what is going on...where Dracula and his hoard of bloodthirsty women are super scary.  Wouldn't want to meet either in a dark alley but definitely not them.

(submitted by Nicci @  Sunny Buzzy Books )   A.   Oh this is a good question....Vampires, definitely vampires, and shifters and ghosts oh my! Witches as well..oh damn I guess really anything spooky works for me! I love October, Halloween and cemeteries, I'm one of those weirdos. How about you? Leave me a message

Q. Are you more willing to read traditionally published books than self-published (indie) books? Or do you not have a preference? (submitted by Julie @ JadeSky)   A. I will read anything.  I have found a great many self published authors that are fantastic so I read what sounds interesting I don't get hung up on whether its self published or published by some big company.  In fact I like helping self-published authors get the word out about their books.

Book Blogger Hop Q Are you more likely to choose to read a book based on the synopsis, or the cover? (submitted by Julie @ JadeSky)   A. I think the covers draw my eyes and then I read the synopsis, but if the cover doesn't catch my eye I most likely won't pick up the book to read the synopsis.  How about you?

Book Blogger Hop Q. What do you use for a bookmark? A real one or something else? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews)     A. If I'm reading an actual physical book instead of my kindle I will use anything, a bookmark, paper napkin, magnetic book mark, post it note, book jacket. If its a hardcover I will never fold down a corner...if its a paperback and I have nothing around me I may (gasp) dog ear a corner but its out of desperation.

BLOGGER HOP: If you read a print book after reading a few e-books......

Book Blogger Hop Q.If you read a print book after reading a few e-books, do you find yourself tapping the bottom of the page so it will turn?   (submitted by Elizabeth @  Silver's Reviews )  A. I don't usually do this but I have been known to try to swipe a page now and then - and those are the times I sit and stare at it wondering why it hasn't changed the page yet.  So stupid -in fact I just did it this morning.  Whenever I do it I hope no one is around to witness my crazy.

[BOOK BLOGGER HOP] Have you ever gotten a book signed by an author?

Book Blogger Hop Q. Have you ever gotten a book signed by the author? (submitted by Julie @ JadeSky) A. Yes! I am a huge Anne Rice Fan and have most of her books in first edition signed copies.  I actually have a photo of her with my daughter Rowan when she was a baby.  I have also met several children's book authors. One of my favorites was Eric Carle who signed my copy of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and of course my sister, Zara Gonzalez Hoang who wrote A New Kind of Wild and has a new one Mi Casa is my home.
