My teaser Tuesday is from:  The Calling by Inger Ash Wolfe  This confirmed one supposition: that this killer was staying out of cities, even the small ones. He was taking advantage of the state of police affairs in the smaller communities: A single murder in a minor municipality - even if it were referred to a larger jurisdiction - was unlikely to appear as a pattern to anyone.

She managed to thrash enough to make a snow angel. Her black body is ensconced in white snow stained with red blood.
